Here’s a long staircase which according to the source, Bit Rebels, is the longest in the world at 699 steps.
This staircase has 699 steps, and if you are afraid of heights (or if you are clumsy like me), I wouldn’t recommend climbing it, especially at night since the railing is missing in some places. It was built on the island of St. Helena in 1829. Back then, it was used for transporting goods into the city, and transporting manure out of the city. These days it’s mostly a tourist attraction, although not very many tourists actually climb the stairs. (Click here to read more and see more images of these stairs)
However a quick google search reveals a staircase that is about 20 times longer and actually holds the Guinness world record for longest stairs.
The longest stairway is listed by Guinness Book of Records as the service stairway for theNiesenbahn funicular railway near Spiez, Switzerland, with 11,674 steps and a height of 1669 m (5476 ft).[16] The stairs are employee-only. (Wikipedia)
