One of the most amazing things I saw as a kid was the launch of the space shuttle. The era of big rockets was already over, but seeing the shuttle launch and return to earth was like Star Wars in real life. And watching the Challenger come apart in class at school was the JFK shooting of my generation.
What will be the equivalent for the next generation?
