Humans and dogs have been partners in fun and work for thousands of years. We get something from them and they get something from us. Sometimes they help us keep livestock like sheep and cows in line, and sometimes we rely on dogs for our very safety. The Avalanche Rescue Dogs as Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows ski resorts at Lake Tahoe California can sniff out a skier buried in an avalanche and help dig them out in time to save their life. Above is a video Squaw Valley just released about the Squaw Dogs Avalanche rescue team.

These dogs are amazing! If you ski or ride Alpine or Squaw Valley you’re sure to see them riding the lifts, running down the trails and frolicking in the snow. The video below from Alpine Meadows shows a little more abou the dogs are trained and how they find people buried in the snow.

KT-22 on Foot in 8.5 Minutes!

In the top video Craig Noble says that his dog Wyle can rin the KT-22 chair lift line in 8 and a half minutes. That’s 1800 feet of elevation and takes the high-speed chairlift 6 minutes. That’s a fast dog!
