My son is 2 years old and is already obsessed with driving. He’s also been to San Francisco. So it stands to reason that somewhere in his brand when he’s zooming his little red Mustang around the floor, he’s dreaming of something like this.
Ken Block is a professional rally car driver and stunt driver who practices the wasteful, distractive and INCREDIBLY COOL art of drifting.
Ken Block Drives a Ford Fiesta for the Monster World Rally Team. I’ve looked over the spec sheets for Ford Fiestas, and can not find a model with 650 horse power. Perhaps this model is not available int he US.
Drifting
When I was a kid playing with my toy cars, they never went around a corner the normal way. I always made them scream sideways, sometimes on two wheels. This is the way Knight Rider did it…
Drifting is a driving technique where the driver intentionally oversteers, causing loss of traction in the rear wheels, while maintaining control from entry to exit of a corner. A car is drifting when the rear slip angle is greater than the front slip angle, to such an extent that often the front wheels are pointing in the opposite direction to the turn (e.g. car is turning left, wheels are pointed right or vice versa).
As a motorsport discipline, professional drifting competitions are held worldwide and are judged according to the speed, angle and line taken through a corner or set of corners. [Wikipedia]
